The goal is to bring the profile to a stable temperature so it can retain its shape and mechanical properties. Proper cooling is essential because uneven or too rapid cooling can cause warping, internal stress, or surface defects.Another key difference is that the runout table is mainly concerned with handling and transport, while the cooling table is mainly concerned with thermal control. The runout table must be mechanically strong, smooth, and precisely aligned. The cooling table must be designed to ensure uniform heat removal and consistent product quality. In many systems, these functions overlap, but their primary purposes remain distinct.In practical use, both tables contribute to product quality and production efficiency. A well-designed runout table helps avoid mechanical damage during transfer, and an effective cooling table ensures the profile reaches the correct temperature before further processing such as cutting, stretching, or stacking.
